What is Write the Docs?

Write the Docs is a global community of people who care about documentation: Programmers, Tech Writers, Customer Support, Designers, Project Managers, Developer Advocates, and anyone else who wants people to have a great experience with software.

Created in 2013 in Portland, Oregon, WTD has hosted conferences around the world in Prague, Sydney, Amsterdam, London, and Melbourne.

We invite you to our Portland conference to join 400 other attendees to explore the art and science of documentation! Tickets are on sale now.

Hike

April 13

If you're in town early, join us for the Hike. Portland has excellent access to the woods right in the city.

Writing Day & Reception

April 14

Kick off the conference with Writing Day and work with fellow documentarians on a project. Followed by the opening reception.

Speaker talks

April 15-16

The main days of the conference. Listen to a diverse panel of speakers share their insights and experience. See our full list of speakers.

Unconference

April 15-16

Share ideas, solve problems and participate in discussions. Anyone can suggest, lead and attend an Unconference.

Lightning Talks

A Lightning Talk is a short talk where you share an idea or concept. Great for first time speakers, sign ups occur on-site.
